"Will she be my new girlfriend?"

Been getting really close with a friend of mine from the same social circle. Been hanging alone the last month several times and became really close all of a sudden. There were subtle hints and flirting going on which I missed most of them because I'm an idiot. I took the chance on one of the hints I managed to grab and asked her if she wanted to eat dinner with me alone. She tested me saying if we should invite the gang and I said I rather spend quality time with you.

So the night arrives, I drive to her place. She looked well dressed and looked quite nervous. Told me that she 'forgot' her umbrella on an obviously heavily rainy day and we went back inside to grab her umbrella. Her roommate saw us and cheekily said, "Have fun" and I saw her blush (she's a bit of a shy one). So we go to my car and she 'accidentally' grabbed the shitty umbrella and so I said we can share my one (which I would prefer that since I could grab her hand). Too bad the rain stopped when we went outside.

We ate dinner and stayed there for two hours just talking. I didn't make it clear saying it was a date so we were both confused on the situation whether it was a date or not. I was so nervous I didn't initiate physical contact just in case she would've not liked that. As the night finished I dropped her off and said goodbye and I chickened out on everything.

Next time when I see her I'll make it clear that the next time we are having dinner, it's going to be a date and I'm 80% sure she will say yes. The only thing stopping me is if things go bad our relationship might be awkward and changed because I do truly enjoy her company, more than her physical attraction.
