What's a true story from your town that others would believe is an urban legend?

Ah dude, this is kind of different from what everyone else is talking about but it's really cool and I love talking about it.

I live in California in a county that's totally surrounding this big lake called Clear Lake. Surprisingly, not a whole lot of the people who live here know it's one of the oldest lakes in the world, if not THE oldest lake in the world. I think it was actually recently confirmed that it's definitely the oldest lake in the western hemisphere. Not only that, but it's overlooked by the youngest mountain in California, Mt. Konocti. And the best part, in my opinion, is that studies suggest that that mountain contains the world's largest cavern. Native Pomo legends talk about, at a time, being able to perform rituals inside the cavern where they met "little people and blind fish." I think I'm pretty skeptical about those little people, but if they really saw something like fish with no eyes, that'd be so dope dude. That's a new species of fish dude. That's so cool.

Anyway, it's borderline an urban legend I guess, because not a lot of people believe in the cavern and stuff. We've been able to see through sciencey shit that our mountain is hollow, but we can't figure out how to get in. I actually think they stopped studying Konocti back in the 90's because they just gave up trying to get inside.

We're also known for our clean air and meth. It's a cool place.
