What's a uniquely American problem?

Yes, it was more common back then.

And I didn't say that the Imperial Units are originally American, just that they, Liberia, and the UK (partially) choose to stick with their nonsense rather than catch up with the more logical system. And "sooooo" what? If you tried to call me a hypocrite, you failed, because I'm not British.

You just said that football was around in the 1800 and 1900, which is the age where most of the "wars with one another or savaging natives in Africa or Asia" happen, so choose an argument.

The colonized countries weren't forced to play football (in fact, there were many laws in various countries prohibiting non whites from playing it), and bans on local traditions and culture of any kind have very rarely been successful.

And the song part is because The Star Spangled Banner's melody is actually from an old British song called To Anacreon in Heaven.
