What's Up Wednesday?!?

Sure, but it's about to get weird up in here.

The game is based out of this LiveJournal (lol) community dedicated to Big Brother/Survivor and there's a bit of discussion about other reality shows. Every now and then when people feel like organizing it they'll start a Big Brother style game. I think this is the 4th game and it leads up to the premier of the new Big Brother Canada season.

Basically the hosts will put out an application, whoever wants to play applies, and they choose 16-17 people to be the HouseGuests. They announce it and the game starts. You private message people and try to build alliances and stuff at the start. Every week they have the HOH competition, where someone wins and gets to nominate two people to be evicted from the game, and then they have the Veto competition where the HOH, nominees, and a few other randomly selected people get to play to win the Veto. If you win the veto you're safe and can take someone one of the nominees off the "block" and the HOH has to renominate someone for eviction. From there everyone private messages each other and tries to figure out who they're going to evict. The nominees campaign to try and stay in the game etc. It's all about winning competitions, building strong alliances, being secretive, lying to people, manipulating people into liking/keeping you in the house.

The competitions can be really neat. They range from like playing some dumb online game and whoever submits the highest score by the deadline wins. They have live competitions that you need to be present for where the hosts will be like "bring me a picture of the 4th prime minister of Canada" and whoever posts the correct picture the fastest wins a point, and first to 5 points wins. There was recently a 48-hour endurance comp where you had to reply to the host every 30 minutes and if you didn't you were out of the comp. I dropped out of that comp super fast, but 3 people ended up staying up for like 2 days straight replying. It was insanity. It's actually SO much more intense than I ever expected it to be.

When there's 9 people left whoever gets evicted becomes a member of the jury, and the jury decides who wins out of the last 2 people standing. You want the "best player" to win, and it's really messy because if you screwed someone over to get to the final 2 they will either be super bitter and not vote for you, or they will realize you actually played the game and deserve to win. Everyone is trying to make big moves and lie/screw people over because those tend to be considered big/smart moves, so it's really hard to trust people.

Anyway it's super silly/total jokes. There's no prize, but some people take it super seriously. I had no clue what I was getting myself into when I applied, and I would probably never play again. It has been fun though. Sorry for writing so much haha
