What's up with antifa and is there real, mainstream controversy around it?

The ACLU wasn't exactly of one mind about whether to take that case. While the director of the ACLU has publicly stated they would continue to defend the civil liberties of anybody, based on their actions since then (most notably, that they rarely opine on alt-right speakers whose arrangements are cancelled due to credible threats of violence) it seems there has been at least some internal realignment to less vigorously seek to represent right-wing cases.

Also, while that may technically fall under the purview of "defending Nazis", I'm pretty sure Field and most other people who identify as AntiFa recognize a distinction between a random person softpedaling the Nazi rally and the ACLU.
