What's up with Artisan's Alley? Bad experiences

Every so often somebody comes to this sub saying the organizer director whatever is not cool and/or is a creep and to stay away from him. What little I know about him makes me want to stay away from anything he ever does. Maybe people on here like him, idc.

Re: the tight little circle, another art place (that closed) used to do the same thing, Paper Crane Studios. There's a definite art clique here and it's awful and it wears on a person. The seriousness with which people take themselves seems to be an effort to compensate for the shitty quality of the art here.

Art in Bloomington needs to consult a more successful model, imo. As far as the gallery shows and IU and the Waldron go, we get the same artists over and over and they're getting old. Like, literally they're gonna expire. Then what will happen, will we have a renaissance?
