Could be an age thing. Stormfront was early internet (mid 90s?) so people my (older) age became aware of it when we were still in the stage of seeking out wild things on the internet just to see how deep and dark the crazy went. Young people obviously are still drawn to look at edgy things, it’s just Reddit and 4chan exist now, so no need to find out about actual websites via word of mouth and furtively type URLs. I visited the site at least a couple times in morbid fascination and wondered whether these people actually existed, as I had never heard anyone say something racist aloud at that point in my life and I couldn’t believe it was real.

That’s the other thing that changed. I now know racist nationalism is not just a few internet nutters and people I suspect are role playing to troll the nutters, it’s a real phenomenon and it’s everywhere. Whether they’re fascinated, terrified, or even a hateful pos, there’s no need for a younger person to have come across the site.
