What's up with India against CAA?

Does CAA touch Muslims in any way whatsoever ?

How does it not. It specifically states that certain communities are, by virtue of it, granted relief from the status of an illigal immigrant from the govenment. This, in conjunction with the announcement of the NRC, which, if implemented, is a nation wide (likely doomed) exercise, to identify illegal immigrants and possibly subject them to detention, if the results in Assam are anything to go by.

If you find yourself excluded from the National Register of Citizens, you have to prove your citizenship as per the newly amended Citizenship Act, unless the government notifies otherwise, or else you would be deemed as an illegal immigrant.

As per the act, you are not automatically granted citizenship by birth. If you are born after 1987, at least one parent has to be a citizen of India at the time for you to qualify for citizenship by birth, and after 2004, both. Due to this and because they simply might not possess the documenation to prove their citizenship, millions of people of all relgions might have run the risk of being sent to detention camps, but thanks to the CAA, Hindus etc. only need to prove that they have resided in the country for at least 5 years.
