What's the verdict on boot camp now with this pandemic business?

Don't worry, man. I went to MEPS 11 times... 11... I was originally going into the Navy and at the last minute due to issues with my recruiter I went to the CG. I had a minor knee surgery from high school that my Navy recruiter told me I didn't need to report and it wasn't a big deal, come my first day at MEPS and the angry Filipino doctors told us to confess everything we ever did in our live down to the first memory we had and if we missed any detail then we'd go to prison in a secret gulag in Alaska and serve 20 years as a slave laborer until our execution date arrived... Actually, that hyperbolic account wasn't far off Lmao! They did threaten us about a million times about if we lie how we are going to prison and being young and niave I told them so they called me a "liar" for not having it in my paperwork, had me get my finger prints taken, and pretty much scared the living shit out of me that I was waiting to be taken by police or federal agents. To my relief it was all a huge scare bullshit game they played and they made me come back 11 times just to clear me.

I will be the first to say that MEPS is the best gate keeper for keeping the non committed out lol.

But all in all, MEPS is bullshit. You will be fine. Just don't tell them more than you have to. They aren't going to look up your entire life's story. They just make sure you aren't a felon or have warrants or outstanding debts. For the record, I'm not saying to "lie"... but if they ask you something disqualifying and you legitimately don't know, don't give them a reason to investigate or else you'll not be allowed to serve in any branch if it turns out you do have something that you were ignorant of.
