What's the weirdest thing you've had ruin a deal?

Floormats..

I had a deal priced out back in May 2009 to buy a 2010 Prius the month they came out. It was at a dealer about 3 hours away so I did everything by email.

Since it was new and a redesign and gas was expensive at the time you couldn't find one below MSRP so that's what we agreed to and I asked the guy to sent me the detailed invoice with my final total owed.

Going over it he had a line for Floormats for like $200 or something. I already the cars window sticker from Toyota which showed that particular car already had them in it's options list so I asked him to remove his addition.

He told me his dealership sold floormats with every car they sold. I told him to take them off or no sale.. so he lost a full MSRP sale over $200 floormats that weren't needed.

Within a week I bought basically the same car from a dealer even farther away who drove it to me for the sale and we signed the papers in about 20 minutes at a restaurant.
