In my first year of university, i was eating with my friend i met for a few months. He sees another friend and he tells her to come over to our table. She kinda looks at me for too long and i avoided her eye contact after the initial introductions.

I meet her a few more times while with my friend. We are all chinese, but my friend and the girl are mandarin speakers from china, while im a cantonese cbc. One day she turns to me and says "i like you" in broken but understandable cantonese. I went blank for a second and just feigned ignorance and said im not sure what you just said. I was so anxious that i just started a conversation with my friend instead. My friend knew immediately what it meant but he didnt say anything about it. The girl and i havent seen each other since....
