What's with all the slut-shaming of Roz?

I just don't want to see anger or the proverbial shit-flinging. /r/Frasier must be civil if anyone is going to be.

That topic comes up pretty often here. You can search other posts. I was watching Friends last night and Ross put on Rachel's makeup in a comically very heavy fashion (she had an injury preventing her from doing it.) Ross asked if it looked okay, she said, "Yeah, sure...I'll just sit next to the transsexual from sales." [Audience Laughs] Like, okay, transsexuals are obviously visual freakshows? Not cool. But I still watch and enjoy Friends.

Much like Friends, we're watching a sitcom that aired a while ago. Frasier started 24 years ago and ended 13 years ago. Things change fast these days. Inappropriate stuff gets said and I think it's worth it to just realize and be glad things have improved as much as they have. Certain topics and jokes will bother certain groups while they won't bother others. If a little bugs you, I'd say enjoy the other 99.9% as the fantastic series it is.

And to add about the gay stuff you mentioned, Frasier was well ahead of the curve for those days. I believe they treated the topic better than anyone else and I don't recall anything really out of line for today.

The Roz thing doesn't bother me - I can see why it'd bother some, but hopefully not much. She gives zingers as good as she gets them and she never really seems hurt. She's confident and in control, smart and quick. The insults on the show are hard-hitting on all topics. What about insulting Frasier and Niles' manhood all the time? That always comes up. We could always find something to pick apart or complain about, but I don't. I think it's the best sitcom ever made and stands the rest of time better than any other.
