What's the worst country you have visited and why?

I was in Tunisia in 2011. It was terrible. The civil war in Libya was beginning and I was quite close to the border between Tunisia and Libya when Gaddafi was captured and killed. The political unrest never really bothered me though, for the most part people around me were quite pleased about the whole thing. What got me was the sheer desperation of people trying to sell shit that nobody wants because their country doesn't function properly and provide real jobs or a safety net. That and without being some alt right edgelord I honestly felt like I was gonna have to shoot some of the dudes who where just hanging about smoking all day going by the looks they gave my sister and asking me if they were allowed to marry her as if it was up to me. I wouldn't consider myself racist by any means but if its a spectrum rather than a binary racist/not racist thing then I probably moved a few points closer because of that visit. The hundreds of nice, helpful, hospitable people we came across on our travels just couldn't make me shake off how uneasy that aspect of their culture made me feel which is sad.
