What's the worst heartbreak you've ever experienced, and how did you get through it?

Probably my parent's divorce. My parents separated for a year before under the premise my dad got a new job in a different city 2 hours away and my mom didn't want to move my sister and I. Turns out instead of working, he was cheating on my mom, classic. As an 8 year old, I was too young and naive to see anything besides my parents being soulmates. After they told us and my dad left, I had a really hard time with it. I struggled in school, had a hard time trusting people, and really just grew up years too early in a short amount of time. Thinking about it 15 years later still makes my heart hurt, thinking about how heartbroken I was at the time. It had to happen, they weren't compatible. I just hope my future kids never have to feel that hurt.
