So, because this was a while ago and I've tried to forget a lot of things around this time in my life. In high school me and this girl had a complicated relationship, we'll call her x. One night, it was like midnight maybe almost 1 am, she called me upset/had just been crying. Earlier in the week we did have an argument/talk/fight. In the middle of the call the call was dropped, so, naturally I try and call her back -- she didn't answer.

Whatever, I was frustrated at this point and just went to bed. Next day or day after that a friend (let's call her y calls me and says that I can't be calling x in the middle of the night making her cry. So, me and y end up meeting up to grab some coffee because she wanted to hear my side of the story. I told her everything down to even whatever the hell me and x argued about earlier in the week.

Basically y and a couple close friends were the only ones who believed my side of the story. Other than that, countless people heard about it and believed x's side of the story -- the side where I was calling her at midnight making her cry.

I had some people give me weird looks around town, I even had mutual friends of ours stop contact with me. It was pretty shitty.

Eventually things got sorted out and the truth came out. x and I really haven't been the same since (we had additional arguments, fights, problems). Overall, I'm over it all, it was just high school bullshit. I mean, I apologized for the shitty things I did on my end and it's been a long time now. When I briefly moved back home just a year or so ago, I remember a friend and I were grabbing some lunch, and her and her boyfriend came in. I smiled and said hey while she walked by. She didn't even look at me, didn't even move her head. No acknowledgement whatsoever.

Oh yea, and a couple years after this happened, I remembered her newish boyfriend drove up to me and stopped right in front of me as I was walking across a parking lot to go inside a store. He just sat there in front of me and revved his engine a few times, then booked it out of there. So, I'm sure she has said some other shit about me that's definitely not true, but whatever.
