A lot.
He's 30 and lives in some really small shitty apartment that he pays for with disability money while his mother covers the rest. The reason this is bad is because he's had no job for the last 6 years, doesn't appear to put any effort into wanting to get one, but then claims that he won't be with a girl unless he's labeled "the bread winner" or "the head of the house" and shit like that. Guy has no money and wants to be top dog. Won't ever happen.
His place constantly smells because he never does laundry or showers.
He only showers when a girl is coming over. His excuse is that it's "worth it" to shower and clean up when he's got a date or something planned, instead of just doing it because it's gross if he doesn't. He's got nothing but excuses as to why he doesn't take care of himself, but when he talks to a girl online and they set up a first date, he's rip-roaring and ready to go with his cleanliness.
Half the time I go over there, I have to knock on his door and wake him up so we can hang out, despite the fact he knew I was coming from the day before. His sleep schedule is fucking ridiculous so when my work day (on a saturday) ends at 12 and I get there by 1:30, he's still asleep. He doesn't even shower, brush his teeth or anything even after I get there. He doesn't even change his fucking shirt. It's pretty goddamn disgusting.
I recently lent him my old PC build I built 3 years ago. It's 20x better than the piece of shit he had before it. I set it all up for him hoping he'd get some use out if it and would maybe get into some PC gaming as he's shown interest in some of the games I play. He unhooked my build and hooked back his other piece of shit because he "has files" on there that he wants to transfer. It's been 3 weeks and he hasn't even bothered to hook my build back up. It really makes me feel like I wasted my time bringing it all the way over there, setting it up and loaning him shit that goes with it. It's almost like a slap in the face. I told him how to transfer whatever pictures or text documents he needs (that's all he really has) and he hasn't even attempted to do it yet. It just really bothers me and makes my effort feel unappreciated.
He's lazy as fuck. Back when he had a car while I had my license suspended, he only came out to hang out with me once. He was the kind of guy that bitches about how when he has a car, everyone wants a ride, but when he doesn't have a car he's got no friends - but then turns around and does the same thing.
I've got a ton more... but I won't go into any more detail. The reason he's my best friend is because we've known each other for over 10 years and we always stayed in contact when the rest of our group fell apart. I wouldn't want to turn my back on the guy just because he's got hygiene problems or has no money. The dude needs a friend, and I've got no problem being there.... but he does so much shit that makes me want to throw a fucking boulder at him.
