what's your best-crafted message that never got read?

All of them. :(

But in all seriousness I did the dreaded follow-up message recently to a girl that said she likes metaphors, poetry and margaritas.

I'm the type of dude that would fall off his bike (usually after an attempted sweet jump) but would get back on afterwards to try again. So here I am: sending another message despite all the experts saying I shouldn't...what do they know anyways?

Since you like poetry, maybe I'll get a bit metaphorical...

A Sweet Jump in Summer

Dusting off rocks that stuck to knees and hands briefly dimpled. Cuts minor, skin rashed - but no worse for the wear. On cue, the sun finds its way through the clouds prying Its grace upon the fallen steed; a be-wheeled mare. Both upright again now, they re-align; re-evaluate; reset But the goal of flying remains the same. He realizes that brief flights need to come first in order to glide And dreaming he hears cheers of his name. A landing less violent, less abrupt, more smooth The key to future flights. He wants to soar. A rush of confidence, an undoubted forward charge: The bull sees the obstacle matador. Rubber grips the wood, foot pushes the pedal, rubber touches air. Wind rushing draws water from the corner of eyes And the feeling in his core means he's airborn now. But now approaching, the landing spot grows in size. Fearless still the folly from before leaves the mind While preparation for impact is on display One tire, then two back to level ground...a slight buck is seen, but He, upright, rides away.

I'm kind of stuck on this bike jump thing for now, but you get the point. Basically, that poem was just a long way of saying: "Hey! I think you're cute. I like the things you wrote about yourself. Maybe I can help get your hands on a margarita and enjoy your company?"

I think the bike was meant to be this message. So meta.
