What's your best sticking it to the "man" story?

I had recently gotten a new position at a previous job which had quite a bit of responsibility and therefore lots to learn. and then someone higher up was going away on vacation soon, so they asked me if i would be willing to fill in and do his duties(while still having to do mine(which btw i didnt have a full grasp of yet)). when they asked me, i just responded with “no not really, i dont really feel like doing 2 jobs for one pay check.” they’re a super pushy company and they like to try and intimidate people into doing what they want. they were clearly caught off guard. but they were just like “uhh ok..” and walked away. i heard later from other people that they were pretty pissed.
