What's your biggest martial arts pet peeve?

Conversely, mine is on the other end of the spectrum. People who believe MMA is the defacto "best form of martial arts" and don't realize that it's functionally a sport, and that on a battlefield (where most of my own combat experience is from) trying to apply MMA into a life and death conflict will see you headed home in a pine box.

I recall at my dojo 2 years ago (Kajukenbo) a kid, mid 20s with some pro-am fights under his belt came to train. Because he was somewhat succuessful in MMA he thought he could transition his skill set from the cage to our art, which is routed in real life conflict. So he and one of the other Sibaks where sparring, and he challenged the kid to try and use one of his MMA techniques. Sure enough the kid tries to shoot for a double, and my boy side steps it and cracks him with a knee to the side of the head. (Full pads of course)

Kid is dazed and confused. I'm laughing my fucking head off. My boy tells him "on the streets or in war, that UFC shit don't fly, son." Kid picks up his shit, leaves and we never see him again. I'm not saying MMA isn't legit. But anyone who thinks a high level MMA fighter can beat an experienced warfighter outside of the rules of MMA is kidding themselves.
