What's your favourite book you've read and why?

The Silo Book series by Hugh Howey, the first book, "Dust", was such an interesting way of normalizing life in a post apocalyptic world. It takes place over a thousand years after what drove humans underground, at the same time trying to find out what got them to that point in the first place and then realizing that you weren't suppose to ask these types of questions, or you're put to death. But, when those questions and answers start to come to light you learn the ugly dark truth and the it turns into an eleborate adventure in uprising and civil unrest. What's really cool, is Howey created a world that had just enough room for different stories to be told, from different perspectives, by different authors who made their own interesting sagas based on what Howey put forth in a somewhat plausible world wide man made culling of innocent people in the guise of human preservation. It's a real mind fuck to think humans are capable of such things.
