What's your 'fuck this, I quit!' story?

Came into the office to sign the contract and the owner offered me a chair; a small office chair on wheels without the back. I took one of the normal ones with four legs, she immediately made a nervous comment about that one "being better" and "more stable". That was the first sign.

During reading and discussing the contract i had some questions and she started BSing me. I told her i have a masters in marketing and economics, she followed with a nervous laughter. That was the second sign.

Few days into the work i still dont have the key to the main computer/till. Every time i went into the office and confronted the worker ( i assume HR ) she would give nervous excuses and tell me to talk to the boss/owner, but she was never around.

About a month in after 3rd or 4th confrontation the boss/owner started avoiding me and didnt want to talk to me unless accompanied by the manager; a 6ft. + 120 kg guy. I still didnt get the means to work solo by then.

I saw where this was going so i stopped doing what i was doing ( basically everything, as long as i had time to do it ) and did only what was covered in my contract, knowing i'd get fired. If i quit i cant reap in the benefits, but if they fire me, i can. Lo and behold, 2 days after, the manager invites me to the office in the morning and says they have to let me go due to cuts in the budget blah blah, the usual. I played along, made the guy look like an idiot by pointing out everything that was wrong, telling him he already has the data he needed about me through other means and he would know it if he paid attention, and he actually got mad to the point of barely containing himself.

I still went to work for the next 2 days, because free money, why not. One of the supervisors asked if i could do something thats not in description of my job and i told him: "I could, but i wont".

After threatening to send them tax inspection because i figured the boss was cooking books and stealing money from employees ( the owner was using employee's paychecks to cover the inventory ), the manager became apologetic and tried to make me stay. Told him to fuck off, and pay me otherwise i'll shut them down and send em to jail.
