I think one important thing to note in this is the lack of any formal requirement by the captains to stay with the company. These bonuses are paid for any captain with current active status immediately $5000.00. In October of 22 another $15,000.00 and $20,000.00 paid in October of 23. But you receive them at that time and with no requirement to stay the entire 2 years. Then they implemented another program to receive the $40,000.00 if you’re an active FO.

They also came out with several other important things with this memo and are all positive. Better trip incentives, training pay, and other stuff.

Overall it’s not a bad thing. You’ll hear a lot of people calling for raise increases, not bonuses. But I believe that is still fully the intention over this year. SkyWest goes into negotiations in the next couple months. So hopefully see those QOL improvements and the hour rate increases with addition to these upgrade bonuses.
