What's your NSFL story?

I went moose hunting in eastern Canada with my father and grandfather, about 5 years ago. A few days in, we finally see one 100 yrds out, and my father takes a shot at him, hitting him broadside, in the lungs. Textbook procedure. We wait for a while, then begin to follow the blood trail. He didn't get very far at all. There was a fair amount of blood around him, but he was still breathing, and responsive. So it looks like we'll be waiting a little longer. Then he stood up. I was standing next to my father, and suddenly I had a face full of bloody moose. Moose are big, and this one was no exception. As quick as the moose stood up, dad planted his boot on him, and kicked him over. Not wanting that too happen again, he took out his knife and slashed the Bull's throat (It also helps to drain some blood beforehand). I had gutted quite a few moose at this point, so it wasn't anything new. But this? Oh boy, this was something else. I have yet to see that much blood come out of something at once. It was spraying out with each heart beat. He had mere minutes before he lost conciousness. Then he stood up. Blood still gushing out, he somehow managed to get his footing and haul himself up. I can't really describe how unnerving this looked. Words don't do it justice. A massive animal, shambling about with blood pouring out of its mouth and throat, it was almost zombie like. We kicked him over again, but this moose must have been a demigod or something, because he stood up twice more before my grandfather got fed up and shot him in the head, splitting his rack. (Which is why we didn't want to shoot him again in the first place). To this day, I've never witnessed anything so bloody, or quite so grotesque. There was blood everywhere, on us, dripping from trees, it seemed like nothing was dry in a 20ft radius. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have believed it.

Tldr: went moose hunting, shot a moose, slashed it's throat, but it must have had plot armor because it kept getting up and wouldn't die, despite spraying all of its blood everywhere.
