What's your opinion on being an atheist?

Scientism is the excessive belief in the scientific process, often to the discount of other forms of human thought like philosophy, ethics, arts and literature. Both Nye and Tyson are guilty of this.

Nye made this awful video that fully demonstrated his complete lack of philosophical perspective.

Tyson is a pioneer in his field of astrophysics, but I think his fame over inflated his ego to the point where he thinks everything that comes out of his head is some new and unique idea, when it is either blatantly obvious or completely false. Just take a look at his Twitter. Whenever he talks about something that isn't within the realms of Astrophysics, he gets called out for basically talking out of his ass. He said BB8 from The Force Awakens wouldn't work in a sandy environment when it did because it was a real robot.

Dawkins, at the very least, put some effort into dealing with religion on their own terms somewhat in 'The God Delusion' but a lot of his points in that book can be countered by a well learned theologian, because Dawkins is an evolutionary biologist, and theology, while certainly a point of interest for him, isn't his field.

It would be like me, with my Bachelors in film and television, writing about rocket science in an authoritative manner without consulting an actual expert.
