Borderlands 2 has by far a better story. It's more entertaining, engaging and fun. The selection of vault hunter and their action skills are pretty great as well. The gameplay feels stiff and sometimes a little floaty compared to Borderlands 3 though

Borderlands 3 has way better gameplay, the shooting, movement, graphics and environments are more thought out and fun to run through. The story is undeniably difficult to like due to some extreme annoyances in the dialogue and it lacks a layer of conflict that's hinted at but is never achieved.

Overall, both games are amazing in their owns respects and it comes down to personal preference between an amazing story with good gameplsy or an amazing gameplay experience with a weak story.
