What's your weirdest or worst airport experience?

I was flying home for the holidays my freshman year of college. The airport was in a smallish town near the school, and my flight had been cancelled. (I think it was lack of interest.) Anyway, I ended up having to fly out of another nearby airport. When I asked an employee about cabs, they flagged down a group of random students (similar situation) and asked them if I could ride with them. I probably should have said no, but ended up taking the ride. When they ran back to their slightly sketchy apartment complex to grab something, I was concerned that I was quite possibly going to die. (Nope, just random college students living in a slightly sketchy apartment complex.) Because of the flight change, I ended up having to fly into a different airport as well. They paid for a cab, but it was a 90 minute drive, and the driver and I were both unfamiliar with the area. (This was pre-GPS.) Cab driver made me get out and ask for directions at a gas station. The gas station employee thought something fishy was going on, and he called the police. They pulled the cab over and took me back to the station, where the parental types had to come pick me up at 3 am. Everything about the trip was bizarre. Also, the plane got struck by lightning.

FAIL.
