What's your worst Nice Guy™ story?

I've had two really awesome things happen to me.

1) I was 'selling' free moving boxes online, but they had to meet me at the front office of our apartment. After having to cancel once (with plenty of notice!), I met the guy at the office with several boxes. I apologized in person and he didn't seem bothered by it. Then he insisted on giving me $5 for the free boxes that I'm sure I inconvenienced him with, plus making him drive to come get. It was awesome.

2) When I was 19, I was driving to school in my first car (a real beater - i had no floor in the backseat passenger side). It was my first winter with it and snow and ice were on the ground.

Long story short, when I tapped on the brakes, they seized up, causing me to spinout on the 3 lane interstate during rush hour. I managed to cross 2 lanes of traffic, while spinning 360 (without hitting anyone), then hit the ditch and did a 180.

I had stopped hitting brakes or gas the moment I started sliding. I managed to stop by hitting the snow in the ditch. I was fine, just a small cut on my head from the steering wheel.

Anyway, for about a minute, I was in complete shock and forgot how to use my cellphone. I was trying to call my mom because I knew I was okay but needed to talk to her to calm down. I was less than 100ft from my exit where my school was (and then it was 2 left turns).

I got ahold of her finally and within another minute, a truck pulled up behind me. I held my mom on the phone while I rolled the window down a crack.

The guy was Spanish speaking only, but motioned he was hooking me up and going to pull me out. He was definitely used to doing this and I never saw the side of his truck. It had a company logo on it.

So he pulls me out of the ditch, then starts waving for the lane closest to us to get over (he waited until only a few cars were in it and didn't step into the lane). When the lane cleared, he motioned for me to go.

It was such an amazing thing for him to do! That was my first and only 'wreck', thankfully. But I'll never forget how wonderful it was for him to pull over in rush hour traffic to help a complete stranger in exchange for nothing in the middle of winter.
