Don’t listen to this guy. He/she is fake news. The entire series is written in third person omniscient and focalized from multiple POVs. There is only one narrator, and the narrator is not unreliable. This isn’t third person limited or first person. If you read the entire 14 book series thinking that every single word the one narrator of the series is telling you, then you will mindfuck the hell out of yourself and won’t believe anything about the series. This gal/guy doesn’t understand the difference between narrator and point of view.

Also, the excessive details of the characters’ dresses or paintings in the hall are useless. You don’t need to hyper close read any of that.
