When you have a baby, do they really put them all together behind a big window like in movies??

Same with me, gave birth in 2016 in a "baby friendly" hospital who was obsessed with breast feeding and were very anti pacifier. They also only had a NICU. I think my recovery might have gone over better in a hospital with a nursery though. I had twins and the hospital was strict against sleeping with the babies in the bed (for good reason) but I also could only feed one at a time, and one had issues nursing and wasn't getting enough milk so he wanted to be at the breast all the time, my other baby almost choked when I tried to sleep the first time so I was paranoid about it happening again. I would have given almost anything to have had a nurse take them for an hour and give them a bottle or pacifier if needed. I couldn't sleep but a few minutes at a time then I'd be woken by a nurse, baby, or my own panic. I was very bad off by the end of it.
