You are absolutely correct. Which is why many feminists support organizations that encourage more women to go into these fields. As an engineer, I'm a big supporter of SWE for example. Much of this is because of how girls are socialized rather than some innate difference between boys and girls. I can tell you firsthand that women are just as capable of succeeding in STEM as men are.

There's a reason men kill themselves at a 4-1 ratio with women.

This is a very serious problem and no doubt improved mental healthcare would be best for everybody. (Addendum: It's important to note that despite this terrible statistic, women attempt suicide at higher rates than men but are less successful. Regardless, I hope we can both agree that clinical depression is a very very serious problem for society as a whole, not just men or just women.)
