When did a feeling of "we need to get out of here immedietally" save you?

This one is kind of long and I’m not the best writer but I will never forget this and I’ve been in a lot of sketchy situations.

It was actually my brothers quick reaction that got us out of a weird situation. My oldest brother has a lot of different businesses and when he was first starting to get into real estate I would help him restore different places. He ask me to come for a ride with him to a house where a guys asked if he could trade his house for one of my brothers mobile homes. If that wasn’t weird enough my brother explained that when on the phone the guy kept mentioning how he found this new religion. We meet goofy characters all the time so didn’t think that much of it. The house sat at the top of a hill on a dead end. It was surrounded by woods and at the bottom of the hill were abandon factories. Three houses next too his were also abandon. It started to make since why he wanted to get rid of it. I drive around the city and surrounding areas every day for work but have never been on this road. We pulled in and we’re greeted by a man not very tall and about as skinny as you could be. He had long white hair and some trippy like symbol on his shirt (like tie dye trippy). He was also wearing a dirty old neck brace. He talked very quiet and calmly. A few moments after we shock hands three small children exited the house. All three had long hair even the boy. They had Black pants and dark grey shirts.... and all three had dirty old neck braces. my brother said you guys in an accident? The man said calmly “no”. I wanted to leave right then but knew my brother was going in and I didn’t want him to go alone. As we started for the door a bunch of bees flew out and swarmed us the man got stung right on his cheek and again very calmly said “ow. That hurt”. Then the little boy slapped me on the back of the leg and yelled “get in!” I had no choice at this point. We got inside and discovered crap everywhere, like everywhere. And the house was only lit by small portable led lights. My brother never noticed this part but I did and I almost freaked. When the guy closed the door behind us he pad locked it but slow and quietly. I saw a knife on the counter and stood by it nearly the whole time. He showed us around then showed us his “temple room” it was what you expect. Candles on the ground boarded up windows weird fabrics hanging from the walls and some symbol I couldn’t make out on the ground. As soon as I noticed the candles in a circle I quickly walked back next to the knife. My brother continued down the hall and I was in the kitchen alone. I glanced over and saw a bedroom door cracked. In between the door and the door jam I saw the little girl standing right there smiling so wide it was almost a joke. Staring right at me through the crack. My brother came back from down the hall and I noticed his keys were now in between his fingers while he made a fist ( like brass knuckles). I don’t even wanna know what happened back there but I could tell he is now starting to realize the gravity of the situation. He came up with a perfect escape as too not offend them. He said “oh man! I almost forgot to get you a business card let me run out and grab one!” He gave me look like “get the hell over here” he tried opening the door and realized it was locked. He said to the man did you lock this. And the man said nothing. We quickly got outside to get a card from the truck and the whole family followed.

This next part I swear on everything I love happened. I heard what I heard. As my brother was trying to end the conversation with the guy so we could leave I was watching the little boy smash rocks together on the ground. Then from the woods behind the home I heard it. From the creepy thick woods in the back probably only 20-30 yards from the back yard I heard a human make a bad impersonation of a wolf or bear and then I heard movement like rustling through bushes but what ever made the noise didn’t sound alone. My brother didn’t hear it because he was talking with the guy by the truck. But I was frozen with fear. Then I slowly looked down at the little boy and while still starring at his rocks he said under his breath clear as day. “They’ll be here soon”. I felt like I was going to collapse. I wasn’t trying to be polite anymore I jumped in the truck and told my brother to come on he told the guy we really had to go and got in and he drove away. Neither him or I said a word for about a full minute while driving.

A month or so later my brother found out the guy didn’t even own the house.

My brother and I always share that story now to new people it’s our favorite to tell but truly was the most uncomfortable I have ever been in my life.
