When did you realise you weren't a child anymore?

I was like twelve or thirteen. Severely underweight. Constantly getting evicted. Baking alive in hot Phoenix apartments with no electricity. Never going to restaurants with the woman who refused to buy groceries. There's more to the whole story, but for this one you just need to know that I was very hungry, and very well deceived about a lot of things.

Anyway, I go into my mom's room for some reason, just walking around the apartment bored. I see a bag of snacks. I'd have had lunch at school the day before and probably want gonna eat on the weekend since she was working somewhere, I don't know. And you know, it just fucking made so much sense. The sky is blue. Water is wet. Mom is neglecting me. Lotta stuff changed very rapidly.

Feel kinda nice to type this.
