When did you realize your family was rich/poor?

growing up, my dad gives us everything we want... we're not rich, just scraping by with a doting father.

There was years on our lives that we were so poor that we had to move in a room, really small. I know we were in hardship but we were still fine since my siblings started working.

But i never think that's the lowest/poorest part of my life...

What i always remember as the poorest part of my life is when i was in gradeschool. After return home from school, my mom would give me food. The food is my cousin's (somewhat rich) left over. I would complain there's no side dish, it's just rice. But my mom would say there is. Do you know the red skin of hotdogs? There would be leftover skins, like really tiny bits, maybe 2-3mm, not really many.

Everytime I remember that, I'm always confused, since during my younger years, both my parents were still working. I don't know why we can't afford food, even instant ones like noodles or whatever.

Our usual meal were powdered sugar and milk on rice, instant coffee on rice, banana with rice, mango with rice, powdered sugar and cocoa on rice.

we were not really poor but we weren't rich either. I know we're still blessed since we have food on the table.
