I didn’t realize I was trans until January 2022. Before that I had spent years avoiding that label.

Having spent so long not seeing myself as trans, I spent the year afterwards thinking long and hard about whether I wanted to start testosterone.

As of now I’ve come to the conclusion that I do want to start testosterone. One thing that helped me seal the deal was the fact that I’ve been using minoxidil for years to grow facial hair, since even before I realized I was trans.

That was one big thing that made me think “oh yeah you’re definitely ready”. That and having already waited a year thinking about it.

I was deeply worried about others using my early realization as a reason to not accept me going on T, hence why I waited so long to be so sure.
