So When Does Rodon Break Into the Rotation This Year?

I couldn't disagree with you more. Do you think having 4 righties in the rotation would also be a bad thing? The Mets, Phillies, Nationals, Orioles, Red Sox, Rays (5 righties), Yankees, Reds (5 righties), Brewers (5 righties), Pirates, Cardinals (5 righties), Indians, Tigers, Twins, Diamondbacks (5 righties), Rockies, Padres, Giants, and Astros all have at least 4 righthanders in their rotations. If you don't have a problem with that many righties then why is having 4 lefthanders so bad? If the Dodgers GM got possessed by a demon tomorrow and offered us Kershaw for Noesi, would you turn that down because that means 4 lefties in our rotation? Come on man, that makes no sense.

I don't really care what our division hits against lefties, because as you can see above lefties are pretty rare so the sample size is small and many of them aren't very good. What I care more about is how does our division do against our pitchers specifically, and I think Sale and Quintana do just fine (except for Sale in 2013 against the Indians). The major point is whether you think Rodon can get batters out better than Noesi can, and if Noesi is stinking up the joint and Rodon is dominating AAA there'd be no reason not to put him in the rotation. He needs to build up his arm strength, I would hate to waste him in the pen, he should either be in our rotation or in Charlotte's. You say he'll replace Jennings, but what if Jennings pitches well?

If Danks repeats last year no one is going to want to trade for him, he was one of the worst starting pitchers in baseball. We're pretty much stuck with him. Given that our #4 and #5 starters are so weak, if we're a playoff contender those would be obvious positions to upgrade, and if Rodon is pitching well in Charlotte it'd be madness not to call him up. I'm very happy you're not the GM.
