I mean, religious insanity is a common enough thing among mass murderers. Thinking you were doing "God's will" is how it is interpreted if you don't regret it, and if you do regret it - you were "controlled by Satan."

How convenient that this spiritual belief allows a murderer to ignore any personal responsibility.

If he truly believes this? He is insane and reasonably needs to be locked up for life for the safety of others.

If he is just lying as an excuse? Then he would need to be shown the wall, frankly. I say this as someone who practically never would support the death penalty, not even for a typical offending pedophile or such. This guy is absolutely sick and such sickness is not something with any reasonable cure.
