Alright, here we go...

So it’s not common with all dog breeds but it something that owners of small breed puppies definitely need to be wary of. Hypoglycemia. Small breed pups lack any sort energy reserves and will essentially run and play until the y run out of sugar. Once gone, they drop and go stiff. Not good.

It sounds cruel when I tell people about this but for the first several months of life small dogs like this need to be caged for 23 hours a day with play time exceeding no more than 10-15 minutes at a time followed by immediate feedings. They grow out of it but it scared the living hell out of me when we first got our puppy.
