When Google was losing a lot of female employees because they weren't coming back to work after giving birth, Google lengthened maternity leave to five months from three and changed it from partial pay to full pay, and the amount of women who didn't come back after maternity leave dropped by 50%.

We have a source for tax money - it comes from payroll taxes. Employers and employees each pay a small amount.

I also don't have kids, but I think people who say "I don't have X, why should I pay for yours" are ridiculous. Where do you think your taxes go? How do you think education is funded? The police, the fire department, roads and highways?

I've never had a house fire, but some of my taxes go to the fire department. I've never had a robbery or break-in or murder, but some of my taxes go to the police department. I've never been incarcerated or had a criminal in my family, but some of my taxes pay for the justice system. I've never had a war, but some of my taxes go to the military.

If you're cherry picking kids as the ONE thing you object to having your tax money used for, you're incredibly short sighted.

People who want resent having their tax money go to pay for child-related expenses are fools - how will an under-educated bunch of humans help you when you're 75? Sure, you will have saved a few thousand dollars when you were young, but now the younger generation running the government can't spell the word government.
