When His Son Came Out As Gay, This Pastor Delivered A Sermon Of Support

Those are really vague terms though. Thomas Aquinas defined love as desiring that which is good for another. If homosexuality is a sin that prevents people from being restored to God, it would be absurdly cruel to just approve of it and thereby prevent them from ever repenting and having a chance at eternal life, no? Just dismissing everyone on the opposite side as not valuing love or whatever is kind of retarded. Especially when your position basically demands that you place zero value in passages like 1 Corinthians 6:9, where Paul explicitly condemns gay people to hell, which basically means that you deny Paul's authority to teach correct doctrine, which is somewhat problematic when you consider he wrote 2/3 of the New Testament. As an atheist, I'd actually say the anti-gay position is the only intellectually coherent one, as the alternative just turns into random-ass cherry picking where the entire foundation of the religion is undermined by dismissing the authority of its most central writer.
