When was the last time you watched the Theatrical cut of the Lord of the Rings?

i personally disagree, at least with The Two Towers. theatrical cut: the faramir arc is completely rushed and you don't get an idea of his motivations behind keeping Frodo in custody and later releasing him. the theatrical cut did the bare minimum in that regard, at least in my opinion. The extended edition (as far as i can remember off the top of my head) shows us more on Boromir as well, in addition to explaining how Faramir knows where Frodo is headed when he tells gandalf in the third movie (in the TT extended cut, he asks and threatens gollum when he finds out he plans on leading the hobbits through cirith ungol -> this scene here. at the very least that should have been in the theatrical cut
