When looking at reviews for the game, remember, the reviews probably aren't for us.

yeah I actually appreciate reviewers mentioning the lack of innovation.

Sure if it aint broke, don't fix it. But it has been 6-7 years since the last iteration, and that was in the last gen console. I'm still on the fence about this game. Because I still remember how I played BO2. I rushed through the first playthrough, so I can get to new game + and mess around with the endgame gear. That's what I realized about this game. You can take your time sure -- but the fun is in the endgame. But once you reach the endgame, it's just a matter of weeks/months before you're bored because chances are you're just going to grind the same bosses and raids. Don't get me wrong, there are many games like this -- but now I generally stay away from these games. I think it's because I'm 28 now and I just can't spend too long playing videogames.

But if this game is more or less the same as the previous, I don't want to go through all that process again. I was 22 when BO2 came out. I had just graduated college and had time to kill. I'm 28 now. I don't mind spending 1-2 hours on games with new mechanics -- but I don't really want to go through something I've gone through before.
