When people at work try to socialize with me.

Without claiming to be introverted or extroverted, I'll just say that I hate getting distracted by people gossiping or complaining about problems they are mostly responsible for and prefer to do my job as best I can until I can find a permanent, better paying and more gratifying gig. No, I don't want to hear you complain that you have to "chase people down" because you refuse to engage them directly on your first correspondence. No, I do not care that despite being a triple minority (ethnicity, sexuality, and religious beliefs), you have disturbingly outdated views on women and prejudice. No, I so not want to hear you complain about having too much to do despite the aggregate two hours of complaining you do a day instead of focusing that energy and attention on problem solving. No I do NOT want to hear you complain about the corporate cutthroat culture yet admit to adhering to it. No I do not want to hear you talk about your health problems while you shove junk foos in your face all day. No I do not want to hear about how you are a germaphobe yet never wash your hands after eating greasy chips and talk to people with food still in your mouth some of which falls out. No I do not want to hear you complain about the technology you sre supposed to be qualified to use at a high level yet struggle with anything beyond the basics.

And no, I don't want to hear you tell me I don't give a shit after you talk about irrelevant bull shit you should know how to ignore and at the very least let go of.

....

Damn, that was long. Posting it anyway.

That said, I'm considered one of the more well-spoken and outspoken people in my department. I have no idea why.
