I completely agree. And that fact you have stated is really fantastic news.

Where the left fails, utterly and continuously, is in its resolute refusal to face reality. That reality is that everybody —every significant and damn near every insignificant—human people group took slaves, committed or attempted (and failed) to commit genocide, conquered etc etc etc. Meaning: those actions by the ancestors of those with “western” ancestry have ZERO explanatory information on the question of why the WEIRD countries have what they have and are what they are. And they have precisely ZERO explanatory power regarding why non-weird countries have what they have and are what they are.

Leftists seem incapable of getting this reality into their thick collective skulls. Which is an existential tragedy.

What you desperately should be focused on is what the WEIRD countries did DIFFERENTLY 300, 200, 100, 75 years ago, and how, and why so that you can help in the WEIRD project of bringing billions out of grinding poverty and despotism and destitution. Because the jobs not finished.

And just as critically, what all humanity needs is for passionate creative lefties to pull your collective head out of your collective asses and help us all come up with solutions to climate change that are not long winded ways of saying “well, half of humanity just needs to die so we’re gonna wreck fucking everything to get that done”. Which is exactly where the green new deal, critical race theory, and greta van grumpy-face are taking us.
