When Someone Tells Me That the Arm-In is a Big Guy Move

You remind me of a friend of mine who I recently had a discussion about identity politics, or so he called it.

My friend felt that a group of people, at the core of the Democratic Party no less, were actively supporting anti-white agendas, I may be taking some liberties with his viewpoint but this is how I took it.

I think he (and maybe you) listened to too much of an echo chamber/right wing media (the left has this too, as you know cause you're on reddit) and the feeling I get is that they make this kind of stuff out to be more prevalent in society than it really is. I in no way support it, and I think (really hope) the vast majority of rational liberals and independents agree.

My personal view is that there is a narrative being told by the right wing media that ethnic groups are taking over the democratic/liberal base and pushing white guilt or whatever. This is not fake news, crazy racist stuff happens that is racist against white people sometimes, and we should call it as such, but to engage in the kind of hyperbole your comment does is over-correcting and hinders progress on race relations.

I long for rational discussion to end the tension between races. But Every side must be willing to participate though, and as long as ethnic groups push anti-white messages there will be people willing to shine a light on that to scare people and make money. Just please know that the "left", "liberals", and "democrats" are not the enemy, we don't just blindly support extreme viewpoints just because they are left leaning, and we hope that right is the same.
