When I was in High school, I would usually eat at the lunch tables with some friends everyday. Right before the lunch period began, a guy I considered a friend asked me if I wanted to hang out with him. I had a strange feeling in my gut telling me that I should go eat, that I shouldn't be here with these people right now. Almost like a feeling of dread came over me. Of course, I ignored it, I was hanging out with this group of people when I suddenly feel someone tap me on my shoulder, turn around and get drilled in the face. A senior sucked punched me in the face (I was a sophomore), we started to fight when I was gushing blood out of my nose. Security had to pull us apart, I was bleeding so much that the security guard asked if I had any diseases or did drugs because I got some blood on him. Went to the hospital, turns out he had a ring on when he punched me and slashed my nose. I later found out that the guy I called a friend sat the entire thing up, because I said a very light joke that he took offense to. Funny enough, neither of us got suspended or in any real trouble. Either way, that was the first and last time I ignored my intuition.
