When do you think a treatment will be developed? (Except for the current treatments, vitrectomy and yag laser)

Within 5 years hydrogel substitutes will eliminate risk of postop risk of retinal detachment or cataract for vitrectomy performed for any indication, floaters or otherwise.

The most promising candidate with published information is Vitreogel [1][2], with demonstrated biodegradation with simultaneous native vitreous regeneration after 3 months [3]. If you'd like the pdf, message me.

And the most likely to reach market is Vitargus [4], published phase 1 human trials, going into phase 2 multicenter trial [5]
