One, the base blocksize will be increased. 8MB base block size will be a reality in 5-10 years. Suddenly we are talking about years not decades to onboard.

now what happened when we hit $50 average fees December 2017? I hope Bitcoin can hardfork and increase the blocksize but in the light of this sentiment why hard forks are altcoins i wouldn't hold my breath.
