When you're a Paladin and you stroll through Stormwind and see other level 40s without a mount

There's so much stuff I don't have time to go into detail with everything. Btw.,

Ughhh...... Gross. So, you're a bit of an idiot.

If you want to have a conversation, you gotta keep this kind of stuff out of the way. I may be an idiot, but you have no way of knowing that! I explicitly did not say that you had to trade AH at the start of the server, nor did not say that you (only) create monopolies. You yourself said earlier that you wanted to dominate a market, and this is what it means to dominate: Control the supply to crank up prices. That is the textbook definition of seeking to monopolize. But leave that aside - this seems to be a sore point for you emotionally.) The mentioned multiplicative factor from start investment comes from more gold = more Kroll blades and stuff with the same properties. Early earnings from this can help build capital for future lucrative trades - like buying shards in bulk and reselling that. This leads to a growth in wealth that is dependent on a large enough starting capital - "exponential" isn't meant to be taken literally, but that you have a multiplicative effect that again can be multiplied later on.

This effect again has to be separated from all of the OTHER excellent money-making opportunities you mention. See, I'm applauding your knowledge after being called a childish idiot... now it's your turn to get down on your knees. Learn to enjoy self-humiliation on the internet, CAN YOU DO THAT YUPPIE BOY LOL!

Anyway, to clarify what I meant by the farming at lvl 40: Yes of cause I understand that this is harmful to your wealth - however, I was COMPARING the, let's say, 10G you would save from not getting certain abilities as a mage, which can equate as little as 2 hours of grinding at level 40, in my estimation. I absolutely agree that if one, as a warrior, have to spend hours upon hours grinding, because you wasted 20G on abilities, then we are talking about a very significant factor indeed, and the player would have failed miserably. Having lvl 40 with 5G and no mount speaks for it self, I hope...

Furthermore, what I meant by being able to get items for myself was AT level 60: In place of aiming invest in e.g. Kroll Blade, one would farm gold to spend directly. I am not saying this is OPTIMAL, I am saying that this is one way of playing the game, that has other advantages which are deemed preferable. Getting the raw material such as Devilsaur Leather is great, but this tactic also contains trade offs. ALL paths contain are trade offs of various kinds, obviously.

Regarding your assertion that consumables will be smarter to get than gear during leveling, yes MAYBE and TO SOME EXTENT. In my experience, not getting health potions, buff food and scrolls is indeed just plain silly. But you have to understand that the equation is not simple at all, and that you have no numbers to back you up. Neither have I, and I agree with you on this (to a certain extent): There is no easy way of knowing whether a piece of gear, or more consumes, will be best in any given situation.

My main point is, that if we can find some numbers, we can get knowledge from that, while the gut-feeling things like what exact consumes are better than what exact gear upgrades at what prices, are not to be taken as facts, but guesses.

In my experience, you have to take things one at a time, and there is a lot of threads that one COULD pick up in your post. A lot of the stuff you mention is relevant to server launch gold making of cause, but perhaps create a new thread if you want go into those tactics in more detail...
