Im a professional Chef. I love to compete. One day I entered a cooking competition that began at 11am and went till about 3 pm, but what I didnt realize was it was being held at a bar and all competing Chefs got free booze. Stayed there all day and ended up winning the competition, but also got hammered while doing so. Got back to my restaurant and had to prep/cook (was a Saturday night) around 7:30 I was wasted and hurting really bad, so I made the decision to shut the place down. We didnt have any more resos on the books, it was cold, rainy. Thats how I justified it in my drunk mind. Sent everyone home, FOH and BOH. Cleaned up and left. The next day got a phone call from the GM. She was not happy at all. Apparently everyone knew I was wasted. Really let my team down that day.
