Where is all the toxicity coming from?

Honestly it might be because you’re a nonner (not in an insulting way)

My experience working with admin based jobs is they’re very lax which isn’t all that bad. But too much lax leads to lazy which seems to be the case for many of these types. I can’t count how many times I’ve gone to some admin place where I needed to get something done but couldn’t get help because they close in 5 minutes. Id called dirinf office hours only to get ignored and the 5th time I call I get some NcO asking “what do you want” “um...for you to do your job?”. I remember I turned in a paper that needed to be submit that day to a TSgt...who proceeded to put the paper in a file and go ok leave.

Ok the flight line you can’t do that. In my first job I knew if I was behind best case scenario, someone’s household goods is delayed by a few weeks to a month. Might not seem that bad to me but for someone trying to settle at home that time counts. Worst case scenario a shipment of blood going to some Warzone is delayed and without that someone dies.

And the problem I saw in my own squadron was that when you give an inch some people take a mile. In my original squadron it was very lax but we got shit done. I rarely saw an NcO because they trusted us. New guys come in they get the same treatment then feel they’re entitled to it. You ask them to go do work and they ask “why do I have to do it”. Or they fuck off and spend their time volunteering.

What I see is that the current leadership in the Air Force (for the most part) are not fit to have a balance of relaxation and rigidity. The leaders who do have that capability usually leave and go make more money somewhere else because why stay in an organization that’s gonna tie my hands and shit on me for taking care of people. The ones who like to shit on people are the ones who stay because those are the ones who look like they’re getting things done.

As I was told by a 1shirt, nothing you’ve done matters unless it’s on paper. And unfortunately being laissez faire doesn’t produce paperwork

Just my little rant
